We kicked off a new year for our mentoring programs with lunch and fun activities at the Belmont Lake State Park in Long Island for our annual Opening Day. Upon arrival at the park, mentors and mentees played icebreaker games to get to know others in the program. Afterward, they got their hands dirty trying to untangle themselves from the Human Knot while also building human pyramids. Post-lunch, mentoring pairs enjoyed free time at the park to pedal or row boats in the lake, go hiking, toss Frisbees and footballs, play basketball or even join in on a game of kickball! While some mentors and mentees were meeting for the very first time that day, many were returning pairs. Thank you to everyone who came out and we look forward to a great year ahead!
