At the last Saturday session, our middle school mentoring pairs got to work on honing their communication skills at PS 1. They did several exercises, but had the most fun testing their verbal limits with popsicle sticks! We divided the group into three mentoring pairs per team, and each mentee got a turn to describe a popsicle stick structure to the rest of their team and see if they could replicate it off of their descriptions. Not only did they learn to work together and build something as a team, our mentees also learned firsthand the importance of strong communication.
