Apex for Youth is offering eight scholarships of up to $10,000 each year of college to Asian-American high school seniors.

By Ashley Ye | February 13, 2025

Apex for Youth believes that every young person deserves the opportunity to pursue higher education, regardless of financial barriers. As part of our commitment to empowering Asian-American youth from low-income and immigrant backgrounds, we’re excited to offer three scholarships to high school seniors in the class of 2025, including the College Success Scholarship, which is open to any Asian or Asian American senior who demonstrates financial need.

The College Success Scholarship is more than just financial aid—it’s a long-term investment in students’ futures. Awardees will receive up to $10,000 per year for four years, covering essential academic expenses such as tuition, room and board, books, school fees, and travel. By easing the financial burden of college, this scholarship allows students to focus on their studies, explore career opportunities, and fully engage in campus life without the stress of overwhelming costs.

Beyond financial support, Apex for Youth offers College and Career Success Programs where young adults will gain access to Apex for Youth’s network of professionals, career workshops, and networking events designed to help them transition from high school to college and beyond.

“The College and Career Success team has helped me to get to where I am today. Funds play a huge part in how this program is operated. If it wasn’t the generosity of the funders, my peers and I wouldn’t have succeeded.”

-Rida Ali, 2024 College Success Scholarship Recipient

The term “bamboo ceilings” emerged in the early 2000s to describe the barriers facing Asian American and Pacific islanders in the workplace: microaggressions made to keep AAPI workers small, less career mobility, and expectations to fit “traditional” views of the model minority myth. At Apex, we envision a world where our youth can reach their fullest potential, overcome barriers with community, and shatter those bamboo ceilings.
