TAILORED FOR YOUTH

Our High School Programs empower students to explore college and career pathways, develop real-world skills, and gain the confidence to shape their futures. As a volunteer, you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting students as they navigate this critical stage of growth, helping them build independence and agency in their decision-making. Whether through one-on-one mentorship, college guidance, or career exploration, your support will have a lasting impact.

High School Mentoring

Mentor a high school student one-on-one, providing personal and academic support as they work toward their future goals.

What You’ll Do

  • Build a meaningful mentor-mentee relationship through regular check-ins and workshops
  • Support your mentee in building confidence, setting personal goals, and exploring different college and career pathways.
  • Participate in workshops and activities that strengthen personal and professional growth, including AAPI Identity & History, Self-Advocacy, Mental Health, Service Learning, and more.

Location

  • Lower East Side (Manhattan)
  • Sunset Park (Brooklyn)

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Must be 21+ years old
  • Commit to a two-year mentorship relationship
  • Attend 75% of workshops with mentee and complete two trainings per year.

Schedule: Monthly Saturday workshops and one mentor-mentee meeting per month (Sept – June)

College Access Program

Support high school juniors and seniors as they navigate the college application process. As a volunteer College Guide, you’ll help students proactively approach applications with confidence, provide mentorship, and equip them with the tools to overcome barriers in their academic journey.

What You’ll Do

  • Guide a small group of two students through the college application and financial aid process
  • Lead team-building exercises and workshops on topics like personal statements, interview prep, and financial aid.
  • Provide individualized support during small-group sessions to help students make informed decisions about their future.
  • Foster a supportive and empowering space that encourages curiosity and confidence.

Location

  • Lower East Side (Manhattan)

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Must be 21+ years old
  • Commit to a two-year mentorship relationship (supporting students from 11th to 12th grade)
  • Attend 75% of bi-monthly Saturday workshops
  • Attend mandatory volunteer training & orientation

Schedule: Meets 1-2 times per month on Saturdays (September – June)

National Virtual Mentoring Program

Support a high school student remotely through structured virtual mentorship, guiding them in personal development, self-exploration, and career/academic pathways.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide personal development support and career exploration guidance
  • Help students navigate goal-setting and decision-making for their future
  • Meet virtually for structured check-ins and discussions

Location

  • Virtual (nationwide), with an optional in-person summer retreat in NYC

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Must be 21+ years old
  • Commit to a one-year mentorship relationship

Schedule: Monthly Saturday sessions and one 1:1 meeting with mentee (Sept – June)

  • June – August: Interview and matching period
  • August – September: Final volunteer acceptances and placements
