May 31 – We’re shining a light on Jiyoon Chung!
Jiyoon Chung is the Executive Director of Apex for Youth, guiding the organization’s vision, strategy, and growth to expand opportunity for Asian American youth from low-income and immigrant backgrounds across NYC. Since joining in 2011, Jiyoon has strengthened Apex’s core programs, nurtured a vibrant organizational culture, and helped scale the organization more than twentyfold. Apex’s programs, including athletics, provide youth with mentorship and critical resources to foster agency, belonging, and confidence.
With a background in youth development, education, and advocacy working with diverse communities of color across NYC, Jiyoon’s leadership is rooted in building community, mentorship, and access. A proud New Yorker and lifelong mentor, Jiyoon continues to empower the next generation through impactful programming and meaningful connections.
