At Apex, we understand the unique challenges middle school youth face as they navigate their personal growth. Our programs are designed to help your child build a strong sense of identity and confidence by fostering transformative relationships with trusted mentors and peers. We focus on supporting your child through difficult emotions, especially those tied to bicultural identity, and providing them with opportunities to explore new experiences that broaden their horizons. Youth are paired with a dedicated mentor in small groups, where they can build personal relationships with both their mentor and peers. Through structured activities, they explore their identity, gain confidence, and discover new interests.
Led by experienced staff, these workshops provide opportunities for middle school youth to connect with like-minded peers, explore various topics, and build meaningful relationships within a supportive environment.
Through sports like basketball, volleyball, and running, your child will build physical well-being and develop perseverance and resilience. We also host special events like the We Run as One Basketball Tournament, helping youth create bonds with volunteer coaches and other teammates.
Our Mental Health Services offer emotional support for your child, helping them cope with difficult emotions. With options like art therapy, talk therapy, and play therapy, your child will have the space to process their feelings and gain coping strategies.
[My coach said] that it doesn’t matter if you make mistakes on the court, you’ll learn from them. It’s important to have a role model to look up to because they can motivate you and you can learn from them. It’s like someone that went through that time with you and didn’t give up. When I have Paul by my side, it’s like he’s going through the steps with me.”

“The best part of the program was seeing some kids start to show signs of improvement, and also to see engagement go up as new drills and games were incorporated into the program. Playing games was also great because those times were essentially focused on only having fun.”
