JOB OVERVIEW
Apex’s Middle School Mentoring Program Brooklyn (MSMP Brooklyn) is a new program in Sunset Park, Brooklyn that is an expansion of our existing Manhattan Middle School Mentoring Program. This program will address the needs of middle school students through one-on-one caring relationships with adult volunteers through a unique blend of mentorship and group programming. The MSMP curriculum focuses on a mentee’s education, health and well-being, and engagement with their community. MSMP takes place on Saturdays from September – June. There is also less frequent summer programming for youth.
The MSMP Brooklyn Manager will be in charge of designing and piloting this new program site by using the program model from our Manhattan Middle School Mentoring Program. Reporting to the Associate Director of Mentoring Programs, the ideal MSMP Brooklyn Manager candidate will possess a strong background in working with middle school aged youth, excellent program management skills, and strong curriculum and program design skills.
