youth living in or near poverty in NYC, our holistic approach is responsive to our youth\u2019s age, racial identity and socioeconomic status. Our programs combine impactful mentorship with access to critical resources for our youth and their families that would not have otherwise been available.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apex creates systems of support for youth from elementary school to young adulthood. Based on shared identities and experiences, we foster transformative relationships with a community of caring adults \u2014 from mentors and therapists to athletic coaches and career guides. Through Apex programs, low-income Asian American youth have the resources and support to break through socioeconomic and racial barriers, creating their own future with a sense of agency, belonging and confidence.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apex for Youth&#8217;s over 40 staff equip and empower almost 1,000 volunteers to serve more than 2,500 youth across the country online and in person in New York City.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"translation-block\">\u0986\u09ae\u09b0\u09be \u098f\u0995\u099f\u09bf <span>\u09b8\u09c0\u09ae\u09be\u09b9\u09c0\u09a8<\/span> \u09aa\u09c3\u09a5\u09bf\u09ac\u09c0 \u09a4\u09c8\u09b0\u09bf \u0995\u09b0\u099b\u09bf <span>\u09b8\u0995\u09b2 \u098f\u09b6\u09c0\u09af\u09bc \u0986\u09ae\u09c7\u09b0\u09bf\u0995\u09be\u09a8 \u09af\u09c1\u09ac\u0995\u09c7\u09b0<\/span> \u099c\u09a8\u09cd\u09af\u0964<\/p><p><b>JOB OVERVIEW<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apex\u2019s Elementary Enrichment Department addresses the educational, social, and emotional needs of elementary students through out-of-school enrichment programs, family nights, and community events. Programs take place on Saturdays from October &#8211; May. These programs are run by staff with support from volunteer mentors.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elementary Enrichment oversees two programs, Read with Apex (K-2) and Elementary Explorers (3-5).\u00a0 Our Read with Apex program focuses on reading and creative writing with our K-2 students. Through this program students will become more confident readers, learn how to tell their own stories, and build supportive relationships with peers and volunteers along the way. Our Elementary Explorers program immerses students in Grades 3-5 in themes of identity, culture, and community exploration through hands-on STEAM focused projects.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All of our Elementary programs are based on a <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">group mentoring model<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in which each class is divided into table groups with a mix of youth and mentors at each table. Each session involves group-based activities that aim to provide our youth with new opportunities and experiences. These experiences are a vehicle for building bonds and overall cultivating a positive sense of identity for each student through consistent group support.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><b>To support these programs, we are recruiting multiple part-time Program Facilitators at our public schools in Chinatown Manhattan; Sunset Park, Brooklyn; and Flushing, Queens, as well as on Zoom, for the 2026-207 school year.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Our 20 sessions take place on Saturday mornings 9:30 AM-12:30 PM from the beginning of October to the end of May.
